When I was tasked with creating a polo shirt for my department, my boss suggested a light purple. I told him it wasn't going to fly with the male staff. He was confused, as he was wearing a pink shirt at the time. I said "YOU are 40 years old, married, kids, mature, and confident in your masculinity. THEY are 22 to 26 years old, most just starting to work real jobs, like to go out clubbing, and are still figuring out who they are while simultaneously dealing with peer pressure."

We went with dark green, and everyone loved them.
