Seriously - if you're going to enter a contest to try to get your novel published, SPELL CHECK THE MANUSCRIPT. It's a basic courtesy.

Really. Considering that most people don't use typewriters anymore but applications like Word, they won't even have to spell-check, since the applications can be set to do that automatically, or maybe even automagically, in their eyes. :-S
