[livejournal.com profile] peterdavidblog2 on the Enterprise finale:
Basically, the last episode of "Star Trek" consists of a guy in a Starfleet outfit sitting around watching a rerun of "Star Trek," and even creating his own fanfic by writing himself into the story and making himself a wise, wonderfully intelligent individual who all the crewmembers unburden themselves to.

And the comment from [livejournal.com profile] ebiannah:
Riker Sue!

Here's hoping Scott Bakula gets another decent job.

Alex & I actually were angry at the end of that. We felt that Trips Death was just stupid & uncalled for. The story stunk. the only nice thing was finding out Shran had a family. We wanted our 42 minutes back.

We think that the whole series is about as anti-family as you could get. The only family that was made up of 2 parents and kids was the O'Briens. Every single time a (except O'brien and when he got married he was a side character at the time) a person gets married/finds love the partner dies. Sure DS9 was a positive Dad& Son spin. But dad ended up not being wholly human. And he "ascended leaving behind a wife of 3 weeks and an unborn child. Gosh I could go on for far too long. At the rate they are going the human race will be an evolutionary end.

I think it would have been a better episode if it was one of the O'Brien's children researching the origins of the Federation. It would have felt less forced that way and we could have done without Diana Troi's psychobabble.

Perhaps researching why Captain Archer was a bit late to give his speech. :)

Or better yet two of the kids, one looking for more info on the romance the other only interested in the combat, each giving conflicting orders to the holodeck in the way current kids fight over the remote. :) It would have covered all of the same plot points in a less ham handed way.
