The worst part is I also saw the equipment yesterday, on one of my many trips to Home Despot, but failed to remember that or understand what it would imply...
Coming in from 128 was especially bad during 2-4 pm when they were finishing up at the Lexington St end; there was 1 lane for the right turn to Bacon/Lexington instead of 2, so only half as many cars were making it through the light. Also, I happened to be coming off Bacon onto Totten (figuring it was better to deal with one lane going to Totten than the 2 from Lexington) when we missed an entire cycle of the lights due to the machines and dump truck doing the very end of Totten and blocking everything on Lexington.
But the milling seems to be completely done now, so it's just the manhole dodge-em until the paving starts. I have no idea if they will be doing any construction for laying stuff under the roads during this period - once they pave, there will be a 3-year moritorium on digging up the road for anything other than an emergency, so if something is on the agenda, now is the time. Still, they did a bunch of digging last year, so maybe we'll go right to lovely new pavement.

Date: 2005-10-03 06:49 pm (UTC)On the way home, there was a sign on Route 128 warning of delays, so I came in via Route 20.
