In 2000 or so, a huge cargo terminal in Watertown was heavily renovated and turned into a commercial for-rent co-lo data center. I used to drive by and see "space available" signs.
I drove by today, and watched the backhoes clearing the mountains of rubble away. That's right, they knocked the whole damn gigantic thing down to make room for some new project. There's probably about 3 acres of land there.
Wonder how much money the data center lost?

Date: 2005-12-27 11:44 am (UTC)Now, maybe they're making condos this time. 3 acres of condos can make a lot of money for the owners. A local one is trying to put 70+ units on a lot that size. (shudder)
